Astrology is a helpful, down to earth, and amazingly fun way to better understand yourself.  It speaks to your most basic needs like, what is my purpose; how can I find love; why do I see the world differently than others; how can I overcome challenges; what is the meaning of life? And it does it in an intriguing fashion that is akin to putting together a puzzle. Only this puzzle is your life and the pieces are the many different parts of yourself.

In our work together I bring a breadth of education and experience that is unique among astrologers. My background is in counseling and religious studies. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Hunter College, NYC and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have extensive experience as a counselor in many different settings, including hospitals, treatment centers, private practice, and holistic health retreats. I have a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, and have taught myth, symbol, and ritual, as well as comparative religion in major universities. I have been an astrologer for over 20 years. I have written on the use of symbol and ritual as tools for healing, as well as astrology columns for various publications. I have been a speaker at numerous conferences, as well as a television and radio guest.

Astrology as a combination of psychology and spirituality

As an Astrologer I bring psychology and spirituality together, looking to restore the balance of body, mind, spirit, and soul. I have come to realize that there is a deep spiritual and intuitive part of us that gets overlooked in our overly analytical and ego-filled world. I have been drawn to the language of the soul, and understand the use of dreams, myth, metaphor, visualization, and guided imagery as a way to open up to that interior world.

Astrology speaks to both sides of your brain

Astrology is a language of the soul that also intrigues the curiosity of the ego. When you understand yourself through the imagery of astrology, you bring together the intuitive symbolic language of your right-brained soul, with the analytical verbal language of your left-brained mind. It literally is a bridge between your head and your heart, between heaven and earth.

Astrology as a Map

Your birth chart is a map of the location of the planets and stars at the moment of your birth. It is like walking into a planetarium and having the Sun, Moon, and all the planets in the sky on your birthday projected on the dome.  Your astrology chart links your birth to the heavens and shows how the magnificence of the universe is reflected in you.

This map of the heavens is your very own mystery that you can decode and translate. In an astrology reading with me I will help you understand the meaning of the Sun, Moon, Mars, and Venus, and other planets to help you see yourself more clearly. And I do this with a grounded and common-sense approach that is directed towards your needs.
